Anamax Recreation Center operates as Sahuarita’s oldest and largest public park in Sahuarita, Arizona, recently recognized as one of America’s Top 100 parks. The facility features diverse amenities including sports fields, outdoor ramadas, dog parks, playgrounds, community gardens, a skate park, and a fitness court that accommodate various recreational interests. The centerpiece addition is the Anamax Park Splashpad, which opened in May 2025 after nearly three years of development, operating from dawn to dusk May through October.
The splashpad represents a significant milestone as Sahuarita’s first public water feature, designed as a safe and engaging recreational space for children and families with twice-daily water quality testing. Safety requirements include adult supervision for children, proper swim attire with mandatory swim diapers for children under 4, no food or drinks in the splashpad area, and immediate evacuation during thunder or lightning. Located in Sahuarita, the park resulted from collaborative efforts involving multiple project partners and demonstrates the community’s commitment to providing quality recreational infrastructure. The facility reserves the right to close the splashpad for maintenance, health, or sanitation concerns throughout Sahuarita, AZ.
